88-tonne fuel tank delivered for Scotland’s first LNG ferry

A major logistical engineering operation took place on the Clyde, on 14th July, when an 88-tonne LNG tank was delivered to Ferguson shipyard, marking a significant milestone in the construction of Scotland’s first LNG ferry. The 147m3 tank is the first to be delivered for two dual fuel ferries being built for Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited.

Disney Cruise Line to acquire another LNG-fueled vessel

Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced that Disney Cruise Line will add one more ship in its expansion "to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level." Joining the other two new ships that were announced just last year, all three ships will be powered by LNG and are expected to be completed by 2023.

Deltamarin signs for Viking Line LNG-fuelled newbuild

Deltamarin announced that it has signed contracts with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry, located in southeast China, for engineering and construction support services for the Viking Line LNG-fuelled ro-pax vessel newbuilding. The new concept is 10% more energy efficient than Viking Grace, the company's most efficient ship.

World’s first LNG-powered dredger named

DEME’s latest newbuild, the trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Minerva’, was officially named in the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, on June 23rd. The 3,500 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger is the first dredging vessel in the world equipped with dual fuel engines and capable of operating in LNG mode.
