New Wheatstone LNG carrier named

On 13 December, a naming ceremony was held at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. Nagasaki Shipyard Corporation, for a new LNG carrier ordered by Japanese NYK to MI LNG. The ship, named 'Pacific Mimosa', will be engaged in LNG transportation for JERA from Chevron’s Wheatstone LNG project in Australia.

Production commences at Yamal LNG

Russian gas producer Novatek announced that Yamal LNG has started producing LNG at the first LNG train, with a capacity of 5.5 million tons per annum. The first cargo loading is scheduled on 8 December 2017 at the Sabetta port, using the first Arc7 ice-class LNG tanker named the “Christophe de Margerie”.

Video: First LNG shipment to Tornio Manga terminal

Wärtsilä's Manga LNG import terminal in Röyttä Harbor, Tornio, in Northern Finland, achieved a significant milestone on 27 November with the successful unloading of the first shipment of LNG. The shipment, comprising 15,000 cubic metres of LNG, arrived eight days ago onboard 'Coral Energy".

First LNG shipment arrives at Finnish Manga LNG terminal

The LNG import terminal in Tornio, Finland, received its first shipload of LNG by 'Coral Energy', a time-chartered LNG carrier operated by Skangas, on Sunday, 19 November. Once completed in summer 2018, the import terminal will be the largest LNG terminal in the Nordic countries and the second LNG terminal in Finland.
