Susanna Wyllie has lead the De Nora global Ballast Water proposal team since 2014. She received her Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Management from Aberdeen University in 2008. Susanna was key in setting up a strategic R&D partnership focusing on muncipal water treatment technologies for Severn Trent Water. Following this she joined the company’s commercial arm to focus on Product Management and Ballast Water, particularly for the marine sector, where she was instrumental in establishing new processes as well as risk/technical assessments in support of technology development.

BWM Convention

Susanna Wyllie, Global Proposals Manager at De Nora, refers to forthcoming challenges concerning the BWM Convention after MEPC 71 decisions and highlights that it is vital for operators to align with BWMC requirements for compliance and not to wait until the last minute. Deharmonising may seem the easy solution now, but those choosing to do this need to understand that there could be repercussions and plan accordingly, Mrs Wyllie notes.
