Europe’s first dual fuel tug officially delivered

Astilleros Gondan announced that it delivered DUX, the first dual fuel tug ever built in Europe, to the Norwegian company Østensjø Rederi A/S, after completing its sea trials program successfully. The escort tug will provide tug services to Norwegian energy company Statoil, at the far-north terminal located at Melkøya, under severe weather conditions.

EU’s first LNG bunkering from regasification plant conducted

Repsol and Enagás have for the first time in Europe supplied a ship with LNG fuel directly from a regasification plant. The operation lasted five hours at the Enagás regasification plant, in Cartagena. This type of supply is known as pipe-to-ship bunkering, and was carried out using flexible cryogenic transfer hoses, connecting the ship directly to the terminal.
