2017 GREEN4SEA Awards

Welcome to the 2017 GREEN4SEA Awards page!

After the successful inaugural awards in 2016, GREEN4SEA is delighted to announce the 2017 GREEN4SEA Awards for the second year within the scope of fostering Environmental Excellence & Sustainable Shipping. The process to be employed is a combination of open nomination and vote while the presentation shall take place during the welcome reception & award ceremony to be held on April the 4th, the evening ahead of the GREEN4SEA Conference, in Athens.

The Award Categories are:

GREEN4SEA Dry Bulk Operator Award, sponsored by ABS
To be awarded to any ship operator of bulk carriers, or general dry cargo vessels that demonstrated environmental excellence and performance above average in any aspect of maritime activity

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • Atlantic Bulk Carriers Management
  • Danaos Corporation
  • ESL Shipping
  • TOTE Maritime
  • Wallem Ship Management

GREEN4SEA Tanker Operator Award, sponsored by Bureau Veritas
To be awarded to any ship operator of oil or chemical tankers, or gas carriers that demonstrated environmental excellence and performance above average in any aspect of maritime activity

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • StealthGas
  • Stena Bulk
  • Teekay
  • Tsakos Columbia Shipmanagement

GREEN4SEA Clean Shipping Award, sponsored by ERMA FIRST
To be awarded to any organization that contributed towards cleaner shipping

The shortlisted nominees are:

  • Sustainable Shipping Initiative

GREEN4SEA Excellence Award, sponsored by Lloyd’s Register
To be awarded to any organization that demonstrated environmental excellence and performance above average in any aspect of maritime activity

  • Port of Gothenburg

GREEN4SEA Technology Award, sponsored by Verifavia Shipping
To be awarded to any organization that provided a significant technological achievement or breakthrough or significant contribution in any aspect of environmental maritime activity

GREEN4SEA Initiative Award, sponsored by OCEANKING
To be awarded to any organization or association that sparked, realised, or significantly contributed towards greener and sustainable shipping

  • SEA\LNG
  • Ursus Maritime Capital

GREEN4SEA Personality Award, sponsored by DNV GL
Any individual person that provided industry leadership and contributed towards greener and sustainable shipping

Awards are subject to the following procedure, terms and conditions.

Nomination and Voting Procedure:

  1. Notification procedure is initiated few months ahead of the event with an open invitation to the industry stakeholders to propose nominations on the web. Nominations are valid only with an online submission completing the form below and can be made by any individual involved in shipping, limited to one nomination per category per person. All nominations MUST be in English language and provide a clear indication of the reasons behind the nomination (as appropriate).
  2. GREEN4SEA Editorial staff will review all nominations for validity in line with rules, terms and conditions announced and place all valid nominations to the website for the online Open Vote in line with the deadlines announced.
  3. For each category winner will be the nominee that has attracted the most votes by the end of the voting period. Only one vote per person per category will be allowed.
  4. Awards shall be presented to winners during the welcome reception & award ceremony to be held on April the 4th, the evening ahead of the GREEN4SEA Conference, in Athens.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Nominations: 2017 GREEN4SEA Awards are open for nominations till Friday, 17th of February 2017. Valid nominations will be reviewed by the editorial staff and put to online open vote on www.green4sea.com, supported by social media and e-mail campaigns.
  2. Eligibility: Only work or achievements taking place within the last 18 months (2015-2016) will be eligible. Each nomination to meet the award description and specified entry criteria.
  3. Online Open Vote Procedure: Votes to be supported by name and business title. Only one vote is accepted per award category. Vote will be open till 24th of March 2017.
  4. Award Announcement: Awards shall be presented to winners during the welcome reception & award ceremony to be held on April the 4th, the evening ahead of the GREEN4SEA Conference, in Athens.
